Topic: WHAT LIVES IN YOU? 1 Cor. 3: 1
Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you”.
According to online dictionary, ‘LIVE IN’ is synonymous to ‘OCCUPY’. As a Christian especially a Catholic, we’re the temple of Almighty God. Therefore, everything that happens in our lives: things we do, things we think, things we get involve in, things we say ( in all, whatsoever we’re occupy with) must be determine/inspire by God. In the text for our reunion theme ( Luke 19:13) the master of those servants determined what his servants should be occupy with by distributing to each of them talents before embarked on his journey. We’re his temple, so he must first occupies us by his Spirit to determine/direct what we’re occupy with. Jesus was first occupied by the Spirit before he was led by the same Spirit into the wilderness (Math. 4:1) and since then he was occupied by his ministry throughout. Subsequently, the Holy Spirit in him determine what he did per time. Just like the priests could no longer minister in 2 Chron.5:14, because God himself has taken over the affairs. That is what happens when we allow our lives to be ordered by God, then, we will stop struggling with life, things will begin to work for us according to his divine will, all impossibilities become possible, all losses become multiple gain because in him there is no impossibility. I know we’ve all received the Spirit/gifts of God at a time in our lives. But the question remains; is the Spirit of God still living (alive, active) in you or is he dormant or you’ve grieved him and he’s departed from you?
Remember:
👉🏻 You were once a teacher but you no longer have time to teach;
👉🏻 You’re once a singing minister but when last did you lead worship/praises?
👉🏻You’re once an intercessor but when last did you intercede for the brethren?
👉🏻You’re once an healing minister but you no longer have time to visit sick sister/brother again talk less of laying hands on them;
👉🏻You’re once an evangelist but when last did you go for soul harvesting mission?
There is a saying that if you’re not living you’re dying i.e. if the fire of the Spirit of God is not living(alive, active) in you, then that fire is dying. Which category are we?
Finally,
Three prayer points for today:
(1) God my heavenly father, I’m your temple come and fill me and live in me till eternity;
(2) God my heavenly father, as from today, let your Holy Spirit take over all the affairs of my life;
(3) O God my father, rekindle in me every dead/dormant Spirit/gifts of God in my life and let me use them for your glory.
Always remember; what occupies your life determine what you are occupy with.
May God’s Spirit help us and direct our lives in accordance to his holy will. Amen.
Shalom!
