OCCUPY TILL I COME SERIES

Go therefore and make disciples of all Nations, baptising them and teach them what  I thought  you and be sure I am with you  to the close of the age – Matthew 28:19 paraphrased. He that instructed us to occupy till he come back also gave just one assignment for the waiting period: which he expect us to be occupied with- To make disciples of all Nations.

Jesus Christ did not just discovered his disciples, he made them. After which he instructed the qualified to make disciples of all nation.  Here Christ demonstrated the need for Christian discipleship in the kingdom life.  Great Apostle Paul was disciples by men (Simeon, Barnabas), Paul discipled Timothy and others.

It is important to note here that we must be a disciple to disciple others. You must be commissioned by a disciple to be qualified to disciple other. Good to note that the quality of any disciple is measured by his/her commitment to God and this commitment is proportional to the genuineness of the commissioning process/procedures.

Jesus Christ  made his own in five simple but thorough  steps:i. Selection/election(Lk.6:14-18) II. Theoretical and practical training (Lk. 6:17-20, 9:16) III. Continuous assessment/ examination (Mk. 8:27-29) Iv. Commissioning (MT. 28:16-20) v.  Empowerment and monitoring (John. 14:18, Lk 24:49 Act 2:1ff). No wonder those who endured the training and passed the tests despite their temperaments finished well. These procedural steps is only possible in a discipleship relationship.

Reflection:
Have I ever  being a disciple and still one?
Am I involve in the only assignment?
Is there any room for the main occupation in my secular occupation?

Prayer points
Lord I….. need you.
Lord,  help me  to hear you.
Lord,  help me to fulfil my divine destiny in Jesus name.  Amen.
